About Dr. Gagos
I have worked in the mental health field since 1999 in a variety of clinical settings with children, adolescents and adults. My experience includes treating individuals, couples, families and groups.
My formal training includes undergraduate degrees in psychology and sociology at the University of California, San Diego. After internships at Jewish Family Services of San Diego and Aurora Behavioral Healthcare, I completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego. I also worked as a Registered Psychological Assistant where I accrued postdoctoral hours for licensure.
I studied and published research on the topic of how adult children cope with parental divorce and presented my research at annual conventions of the American Psychological Association and the California Psychological Association, as well as to members of the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center.
Since 2006 I have focused on providing services in private practice. My general practice includes helping clients who struggle with various challenges, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, thought disorders, relationship conflict, childhood and adolescent problems, family disruption and grief and loss. My particular interests are in the areas of attachment, adult children of divorce, women's issues and reproductive difficulties.

I am an active member of both the San Diego Psychological Association (SDPA) and Postpartum Health Alliance (PHA), a non-profit organization which raises awareness about perinatal mood disorders and provides support and treatment referrals to women and their families. I also serve in the community on the board of directors for The Kelly McGinnis Memorial Foundation, a non-profit foundation which supports local high schools and students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
